Polly is inspired by text; her discipline varies from calligraphy and letterpress to embroidery, pyrography and engraving. Mark making on linen, paper, feathers, fabric and glass she tells a quiet story, evoking the past and provoking sentiment.
For ‘Art On The Edge’ the echoes of poems are inspired by the ghostly location of Brean, capturing military history from the surroundings. Engraved text will decorate the sides of found glass bottles and will be located within the fort walls. The ever-changing light and weather conditions will mirror text upon the structures as the wind sings over the open bottle necks.
