Amanda is a visual artist with a Degree in ‘Art and Social Context’ and a PGCE in Adult Education. She teaches painting, drawing, printing and textiles to adults on a series of day and evening workshops. Part of her teaching role involves line managing 12 artist-tutors who work in a variety of disciplines. Over the years she has worked in some challenging environments such as a women’s prison and an inner city adventure playground and has gained experience of running projects and workshops with a range of adults and children. She currently also work as a painter/printmaker from her studio at the Silk Mill in Frome.
She works in oil, watercolour and print mediums.Her current work explores monotype print, collage and watercolour. Her work is based in landscape and can be described as semi-abstract in style. She is attracted to places with a strong connection to human history and works from her own drawings and sketches and regularly visit places she is inspired by.
